Hello,
I worked with Chris in Edison for a few years and am sorrowed to hear of her passing. She was a vibrant, happy and upbeat person person to work with and made my time in Edison memorable! She was also a positive role model to me, being a younger, female ChE just starting my career. Please know that my prayers are with your entire family at this difficult time.- Cindy (Sems) Combi

To the Cris Ong's family:
I just came from an overseas trip this morning and have read the message about the Cristine's death too late to attend the funeral. I am very sorry.
I knew Cris for 22 years, I worked with her at Mobil and I was the last person to work with her during her time at Exxon Research Center in Annandale. Cris was a wonderful person and a very good engineer/scientist. I will miss her very much!

Oh, Christine--I can't believe you are gone so soon.
Dear Family, Christine became a great supporter and a dear friend over the nearly 20 years we knew each other. In our work at Mobil, and later with the NJ Youth Symphony, we tried a lot of things, succeeded at some, laughed and cried, railed and plotted, led and followed--each other and dear colleagues in both organizations. I wish you could have seen how she empathetically listened to my tales of life after the oil business, and then smoothly recruited me for pro bono work and then Board membership for NJYS!
She was a brilliant scientist, a clear thinker, and a lot of fun. As her family, you have been blessed by her life more than the rest of us, because she always had you first in her heart. Todd and I have only love and sympathy for you at this time.

Christine and I worked together on many projects at Edison and we were coinventors on several patents. This sad news came as a schock to me. I was always hoping that when I am not as busy, my family and hers can have lunch or dinner together. Christine is smart, and always a strong leader in the field that she chose to work in. She always stood up for her rights and never back down even in front of higher authorities. In the midst of turbulance, she would always be calm and coolly laid down her reasonings, conclusions and plans. She will be missed.

Dear Ong Family..
I am very saddened at Christine's passing away. I got to know Chris at the time of merger and we became very good friends at ExxonMobil. She was an excellent scientist but an even better mother who taught us how to learn to balance work and life at home. She was a great inspiration for me. I will miss her dearly.. I still cannot believe it that she is no more. Just seems like yesterday when she visited us here and looked great.
Jerry, Janice, Kathy and Margaret...May God give you strength to bear this imense loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Ong Family,
Christine was a dear friend for many years. We became specially close when we were both working for Mobil and we both delivered our daughters the same day in November 1987. In addition to the many contributions she made at work, she was always a great mother and wife. She was an inspiration to many of us who tried to balance work and family. I will miss her very much, and pray for her and for her family. Vaseem

I got to know Christine as a result of teh EexxonMObil merger in 1999. She was one of the few people who moved from Edison to the Clinton site. She was a gifted and inspirational polymer chemist. I enjoyed very much our many discussions about polymer chemistry. She was a valued scientist and contributor to the ExxonMobil community and a wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed.

Dear Ong Family:
Please accept my sincere sympathy upon the loss of Christine. She was Chairwoman of the Board at NJYS when I first became a Board member. She was warm, sincere and industrious. I always enjoyed her company. She will be sorely missed.
