My grandmother enjoyed her summer trips to The Thompson House in Wyndham, NY. She was a regular patron of the Bayside Milk Farm in her hometown of Bayside, NY, liked to play bridge with friends, made incredible Christmas cookies (which looked as good as they tasted, and tasted as good as they looked!), and was a sweet lady. One thing about her that would make you laugh was that after she was given a VCR, her sons tried to help her understand how to use it. One of them, my uncle I think, even wrote directions and taped to the top fo the machine. She never wanted to use it because she seemed not to want to be bothered with the complication of dealing with this new technology.
