So sad to learn of Harold's passing! We were in the same grade school class, and I still remember visiting him in his parent's home in Plainfield. I remember Harold as one of the nicest, happiest kids in our class, with a big smile and a great sense of humor!
To Mr and Mrs. Henry Sr.and Family: I am so sorry for your loss! I wish there would be more like your son in this world.
May Harold Jr. be bound in the bond of eternal life, and may G-d rest his beautiful soul.
Wishing no more sadness for the Henry Family,
Michael Silver

My condolences to Harry and all other family members. Watching the brothers grow up and pursue their education was a joy and inspiration to many of us living in the West End of Plainfield. Your parents and all your family as well as friends and acquaintances had to be proud of your successes. May god be with you and comfort you throughout this mourning period.
Sincerely,
Irene (Washington) Dasher (GA)

I had seen Harold working out at my gym for a few years before we finally spoke to each other. When we did, we discovered that we had the exact same birthday and year, so Harold began calling me his "birth twin." I was delighted to find that we shared many interests and we had a lovely dinner at my home in November. I had seen him at the gym following his heart surgery, but he still bothered to ask about my back problems! That was Harold. We had been planning to get together shortly before his passing. While I did not know him for a long time, he had a way of making you feel that you had been friends forever. I will always miss him.

I was so shocked to hear the news of Mr. Henry's passing. My first thoughts were that this world will be a little darker now without his wonderful warm smile and infectious laugh. We have not crossed paths in quite a while but whenever we did it was like a day had never gone by. Mr.Henry helped my family in tremendous ways. May God bless him for his kindness. I pray that you, his family will feel comforted in knowing how many lives he has personally touched. My son is studying at Rutgers to become a special education teacher. My hope for him is that he can be as effective as your Brother and Uncle.

I knew Harold from Bally's Gym in Springfield. We struck up a conversation one day last fall and became friends in a short time. Actually, people at the gym came up to say hi to to Harold all the time; all types of people seemed to warm up to him. Tom & I were looking forward to seeing him after New Year's. Since we didn't see him for awhile, we Googled his name and found this page---one day too late for the service. We didn't know him for long, but we recognized his intelligence and openness, and we will miss a new friendship cut short. Our deepest sympathies to his family.

I am the retired secretary at Harmony School. I worked with Harold for many years.
My memories of Harold are very happy ones. We would always talk and laugh. His laugh was such a joy -infectious, hardy and genuine.
When he would have a special meeting he would dress up to the nines. He was impeccable in his dress and looked so sophisticated in a suit.
We shared the joy of good food. I enjoyed so much the cake his aunt made. I would ask him when he was going to bring in his aunts coconut cake with white icing. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed and shared it with him at Harmony.
He had a deep and genuine concern for the students he was helping and for his team at Harmony
I know he will be deeply missed by the Harmony staff and the staff at Navesink school and all the people who knew him in Middletown. God Bless you Harold

Harold was one of the kindest, friendliest people that I have ever had the honor to meet. He was extremely thoughtful and always ready for a laugh. I remember he gave me a wedding gift when he barely knew me. After sending him a thank you card with my wedding picture, I ran into him at one of the schools. He told me how much he loved the picture and that I was (at the time) the only white girl on his mantle! I didn't see him as often now as I did back around 2000, but he was always ready to talk and joke and greeted me like a long lost relative. He made everyone feel important. I have never, and will never, think of Harold without smiling.
