Obituary of Eugene Tunison

Plainfield: Eugene Tunison, age 85, died on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. He was born in Somerville and had resided in Plainfield for over 60 years. Mr. Tunison received his Associates Degree while serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was a photographer for Essex County College in Newark. He was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. He was an avid fisherman and photographer. Mr. Tunison is predeceased by his wife, Louise in October of 2007. Surviving are his son, Glenn Tunison of VA; his daughter, Juanda Peterman of Plainfield; his grand-children, Tamika Tunison, Robert Peterman, Jahiem Tunison and Hussein Tunison and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at 12 noon at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 1430 Park Ave., Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
