I remember with great fondness Rich, his great sense of humor, his pride in his kids accomplishments and his "elegant" taste for the finer things in life. He and Jeffrey and myself have had a great long standing friendship filled with laughter and mirth while we worked at AT&T and after AT&T. I will miss him and wish his family to know that Rich was someone I was proud to call a friend. My sincere condolence and sympathy to his family.

I first met Rich in 1980 when we were both working for AT&T in Bedminster and then later in Morristown. I will remember Rich as one of my best friends and will miss his great sense of humor.
My deepest sympathy to Annette and the rest of his family.

Dear Mrs. Pate,
Richard and I grew up about a block away from each other in Jersey City. We went to Dickison together and worked on the same committee for our 48th reunion. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. From his early years he was a perfect gentleman and everyone was very fond of him. He was a great dresser then and still was when I saw him at the reunion. I know he had to be a great husband and father because of his gentleness. Again my deepest condolences to you and your family. I will keep you all in my prayers

Dear Family of Richard Pate,
I went to school with Richard, and we graduated Dickinson High School together, in 1955. I remember him being quiet, polite, sweet, and a very good dresser. I could not attend the 48th class reunion, but friends were kind enough to email me pictures of everyone who did attend, and I must add that Richie was one of few males who aged very well, like a fine wine.
Please take consolation in the fact that he is now at peace, resting in the arms of God. I will never forget the date of his passing, as February 11th was my 71st birthday. Please accept my sincerest sympathies.
Kathleen Reilly (Texas)

Richie and I sat opposite each other in homeroom for the last three years of high school career. He was always so well dressed and so sweet. He will always be the kind hearted person I remember.
