Obituary of Richard E. Pate

Richard E. Pate, age 71, died on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born and raised in Jersey City, he lived in Plainfield for the past 30 years. Mr. Pate received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. Peters College in Jersey City. He served in the US Army. Mr. Pate was employed by AT&T for over 20 years. After his retirement, he was the assistant city clerk in Plainfield for 2 years and a recruiter for the NJ Dept. of Labor in Newark for 10 years. He was also very active with Concerned R We in Newark. Surviving are his wife, Rose Annette Pate; his two daughters, Leighsa M. Pate-Gray (Tony) of South Plainfield and Deborah L. Lovett (Naru) of Winston Salem, NC; his cousin, Edward Coleman and his family of Manhattan; his brother-in-law, Douglas M. Brooks of MA and his five grandchildren, Aisha, Ashleigh, Elijah, Anthony and Isaiah. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 am with an 11:00 am Funeral Service at Fountain Baptist Church, 116 Glenside Avenue, Summit. Cremation is private.
