Obituary of Frank Jannelli
Warren: Frank Jannelli Jr., age 85, died on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Raritan Health and Extended Care in Raritan. Mr. Jannelli was born and raised in North Plainfield. He had resided in Warren for 62 years in a home that he built himself.
Mr. Jannelli began his career in 1947 as a mechanic for Herman Forwarding Company of North Brunswick; worked with them for 14 years. From 1961 to 1976, he was vice president at Associated Transport, Inc./Eastern Freightways, Inc. in Carlstadt. In 1976 he was Executive Assistant to Thomas J. Cahill, Trustee-in-Bankruptcy of Associated Transport, Inc. Prior to his retirement he was co-owner of Hub Driver Leasing, a truck leasing company that was located in New Brunswick.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army as a pilot. He loved keeping busy; he was a work-oholic. Even in his spare time he would fix small engines, such lawn mowers and snow blowers for his neighbors and friends, he had a very high mechanical ability.
He is predeceased by his first love and wife June Gloria (Peterson) Jannelli in 1984. She lovingly referred to him as "Sonny".
He is survived by his third wife June Jannelli (Abbott) of Rhode Island; a son John Jannelli and his wife Marjorie of Flemington; three daughters Penny Jannelli and her husband Don Sellmann of Bridgewater, Robin Jannelli of Avenel and Wendy Hyslip of North Cape May; a sister Clara Stagaard of Nevada; three grandchildren Jennifer Raffloer and husband J. Luis Varela of Piscataway, Lauren Jannelli of Bedminster and Justin Raffloer and wife Alicia Raffloer of Glen Gardner. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren Mikaela and Lacey Varela and Aaron and Gavin Raffloer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday March 6, 2008 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Interment to follow will be at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
