Rest in peace; you have truly been an angel on earth. Barbara Ann Reed was my 5th grade teacher in Winston-Salem and was loved and revered by all. An intellect as well as an educator, she never veered off the path of righteousness, while applying the perfect amount of guidance, encouragement and structure for those students fortunate enough to have been in her care.
I wanted to honor her in the best way possible; however, I had a son. I then named him "Julian" after her father. She flew to Atlanta for his christening.
God blesses us with disciples on earth. Barbara Ann Reed was one of them.

How sad! I came upon this obituary by accident while searching for one of my Plainfield classmates...I was fortunate enough to have been one of her students at Maxson School. She will be sadly missed---her wit, her candor, and her "fabulosity" will forever go unmatched!!!

Thoughts from a former student...Maurice Marino
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Reed. She was my 8th gr. teacher at Maxson School. She told me she had been to my mother's home in VA (Saluda). She was an excellent and caring teacher.
May the beautiful memories Mrs.Reed left forever be in your heart.

What can I say about my Aunt Barbara . . . she was sophisticated, classy, always dressed to impress with a flare of spunk and boy could she wear a hat! Aunt Barbara always emphasized the importance of education and that you should always carry yourself as a lady. She was married to my Uncle and part of our family for as long as I can remember. She will definitely be missed!
We Love you - Aunt Barbara!
