Obituary of Amy V. Chamblee

Amy V. Chamblee, 87, daughter of Frederick and Hazel Perkins Oborne, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at her home. Born in Windsor Mills, Quebec, Canada, she was raised in Cornish, NH and lived in Warren, Watchung and Stirling before moving to North Plainfield last year. Prior to retiring in 1993, she was employed as a school bus driver by the New Providence Board of Education for 17 years. An active member of Calvary Chapel of North Plainfield, she was instrumental in beginning the Lighthouse Food Ministry, which feeds between 80 and 100 families a week. Amy loved to write, poetry being her favorite. She loved sports and was an avid baseball fan. Surviving are her daughter, Amy Dickerson and her husband Pastor Thomas of North Plainfield; a brother, Alfred Oborne of Wayne, NY; three grandchildren, Steven of Bridgewater and David and Bethany Dickerson of North Plainfield along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by interment at Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
