Obituary of Monica Elisabeth Zimmer

Monica E. Zimmer age 45, died suddenly on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 at her home in Bridgewater. She resided in Mendham and Medjugorje before moving to Bridgewater 12 years ago. She was a self-employed Freelance Writer and Animation Artist for the last 4 years, concurrently working in the family real estate business. Monica was a graduate of Immaculata High School, Somerville and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, Manhattan. She was so full of life; having embraced and enjoyed meeting friends and family globally. Monica enjoyed traveling, skiing, hiking and tennis. She especially loved being with, playing and teaching children. A very devout Catholic, she was a member of several prayer groups. Surviving are her parents, Frank and Hildegard Zimmer; her brother, Norman and his wife, Claudia Zimmer and their children, Sam and Teresa; her 95 year old grandmother, Elisabeth Zimmer in Germany; a beloved aunt, Margaret Szombath, her extended family in Germany and many close friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
