Obituary of Thomas Joseph Preston

Thomas J. Preston, 40, of King of Prussia, PA died on Friday, in a snowmobiling accident while on vacation with friends in New Hampshire. Tommy was born in Plainfield, NJ in 1968 graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 1986 and the University of Rhode Island in 1990 where he was a brother in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Tom and his devoted partner Amanda Teer were recently blessed with the birth of their son, Connor Joseph Preston. Tommy was elated at being a new dad and happy and proud of his new family. He was a huge fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.. Tommy held the position of Vice President of Sales for New Horizons Learning Center in King of Prussia, PA. Tom will be dearly missed by his parents, Kathleen and Gene Preston of Martinsville, NJ and Naples, FL and his eight siblings, Gene and his wife Claire, of Chester, NJ, Nancy Murphy and her husband, John, of Hudson, Ohio, Peggy Matzen and her husband, Mark, and Laurie Wolfe and her husband, Bud, all of Basking Ridge, NJ, , Amee Smolinsky, and her husband, Mike, and Kerry Reinagel, and her husband, Tim, all of Clinton Township, NJ, Timmy of Martinsville, NJ and Mick, and his wife, Marie, of Yardley, Pa. Tom is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews. During his too short life and career Tom was blessed with a large circle of wonderful friends who share in our grief and will miss his love, wit and sense of humor. Tommy touched many lives and will live in our hearts and memories. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 17, 2009 at 9 am from Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung followed by a 10 am Mass of Resurrection at St. James R.C. Church, Basking Ridge. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Monday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
