Mom, What can I say? You are my friend, my mentor, my rock, my Mom. I love you so much, and I know you know that. We have shared so much together.
Thank you for being my mom, and I thank God for giving you to me. I miss you now, but I know that someday our souls will touch in heaven, and we will all be together again, you, dad, R
ich, me and all our loved ones who have gone before. Save a place for me, okay?

My Dearest Nana,
The thought of not having you with us leaves me and my family with a very heavy heart. But to think of all the wonderful years we got to share, brings warm smiles of remembrance. I'm glad that your great grand kids will have many loving memories to grow up with. You will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing you. We Love and Miss you. My God Embrace You Forever!

To Sharron and her entire family....although I only met your mother once or twice in my lifetime, knowing she was the head of such a warm and loving family speaks volumes about her. May she find comfort and peace in the hands of God. And I know one day the happy memories will overtake the sadness you now feel and your heart will be filled with her love.

My Nana ~ I am so very grateful to have had you in my life. We sure did have something special between us. I will miss our talks, our laughs and our cries together. I will miss your beautiful blue eyes, soft skin and words of comfort and wisdom that only you have. Another piece of my heart has been taken away. I love you so much and will forever miss you.
I'm counting on you to take good care of daddy now that you are together again. Sending hugs and kisses to you both in heaven.
Until we meet again...

I will miss my great grandmother very much. Everyone always said she is the wisest and cleverest person in our family. I will miss her generousity.I have to realize that she was going to be almost 90 years old. Most kids don't get to see their great grandmother. The fact that I got to spend eleven years of my life with her is truly amazing. I love you Nana Velha so much.

Noone can ever replace my great grandmother. She has a special place in everyone's heart. I always smile whenever I think of her. Wether it's her gorgeous smile or her unique presents she has never failed to make everyone smile. I'm going to miss seeing her and saying, "Hey gorgeous looking younger everyday." and then she'd reply, " Oh John your're such the ladies man."
Whenever I said that it made her smile and nothing can replace the warmth her smile brought to my soul. Ilove you Nana Velha and I always will.

Mom, I love you and miss you. Thanks for raising me and my sister in the way that you did. I know you are in heaven with dad and it will be your first Easter in heaven and my first Easter without you. I love you very much.

A Reflection on Nana from her grandson, Rick
I was reminded this week of how much Nan loved Spring.
Springtime is a time for birth, growth, and renewal. It also follows winter, a time for dormancy, and death. As we sit here watching springtime unfold we reflect on the death of Nan and celebrate her new life with past loved ones and friends who have also left this world to be with God. Nan is now basking in the glow of a new life. From what I have been told, during quiet times with her and with my mom, I came to realize that Nan had overcome some pretty big challenges in her life but never complained or looked back. To me she was full of life, and was ready to teach me how to enjoy life too. She taught me how to swim in Lake Mohawk, took me to the Sussex County Fair and was brave enough to get into an aluminum row boat with me during a lighting storm albeit screaming the entire time. Her love for gardening and living in the country contributed to my love for the outdoors. I recall her bringing me to collect butterflies in her back field, sleigh riding the hill across from her home and the warmth of the fieldstone fireplace. These memories were gifts from her as is my love for her. As a child, I could not wait to see Nan and I loved every moment with her. I know she loved her family deeply and as I sit and reflect on our life together, I am glad she was my Nana. I cherish the memories I have with her and I will always keep her in my heart, right next to my mother.
