Obituary of Lynn S. Battiato

Lynn S. Battiato, age 88, died on Monday, April 6, 2009 at her home in Basking Ridge. She was born in Arlington and had lived in Manahawkin before moving to Basking Ridge in 1990. Prior to her retirement, she owned a hair salon in Sparta with her husband where she worked as a receptionist. Mrs. Battiato was a member of the Bishop Janes United Methodist Church in Basking Ridge. She worked until last year at the Board of Elections in Basking Ridge and did quite a bit of volunteer work at Ridge Oak where she helped collate the "Acorn", a monthly newsletter. Mrs. Battiato is predeceased by her first husband, Frank Rhinehart in 1965 and her second husband, Joseph Battiato in 1988. Surviving are her son, Fred Rhinehart of Lake Hiawatha; her daughter, Sharron Kaiser of Warren, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Popcorn Zoo at Lacey Road. P.O.
