if only i had one wish
i'd only wish for you
if i only had one dream
i'd only dream of you
if i could bring one person back
i'd only ever pick you
one in a million is what you were
a diamond and a treasure
a brilliant mom and friend
i'll always love you forever
and keep our memories close
and treasure your love for ever
missing you every day

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss of Marta. It was an extreme shock to see that she had passed on, so young, so vital.
Marta & Ed were our second tenants in our home on Mountain Ave, Amanda was born when Marta & Ed were our neighbors. Coincidentally,
we had the same wedding rings!
We're sorry we can't make the viewing, we're both ill with what we hope isn't swine flu,
but wanted to express our feelings. It's been a couple of years since we saw Marta.
Our hearts go out to all of you at this sad time...

Marta was certainly an insperation to me as she fought this hard battle - as was her mother, and all her family.
This is such a sad time I know for all of you and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
One can only believe God wanted another angel in heaven. May he bless all of you and help you through this very difficult time.
My love,
Dotti

As I look at a picture of my sister Marta with her two beautiful daughters, Amanda and Rebecca and My Mom I realize that they were a very blessed and happy family. Amanda was Maid of Honor at her friends wedding and they all were dressed up and quite stunning. It is one of those pictures that I will cherish always. Except for Marta's illness, they all shared so much joy, love and happiness. I am so glad that the last years allowed us (Marta's family, Janet's family and my family) to all grow so close and realize that in life nothing is more valuable than the precious gift of a loving family. Marta grew to know this family bond was so special and she loved each one of us greatly and she knew that her love was returned. I will miss my sister Marta, but I will have the treasure of her daughters and my heartfelt memories forever.

I was very sorry to hear about Marta. While I have not been back east since Jim died, you all have been in my prayers. Some of my fondest memories as a child and a young man are woven around your clan. In that sense, you all are part of who I am. Please send me your phone numbers and or e-mails. I would love to re-connect. Remember, when God closes a door, He opens a window.

It is wonderful to see the pictures from a long time ago held so clearly in the mind's eye that recall Marta's beautiful smile along with the happy gentle sound of her voice. I have seen those pictures and heard those sounds many times in recent years and I am so happy that they are there. Somehow, I know that whenever I will look to the sky and clouds above, those memories will bring a smile to me - especially on rainy days. The richness and joy you brought to each of us is one of life’s treasures we will savor for a lifetime.

Where does a sister begin to remember all of the memories about Marta Laine Sadowski. She was a great mother, sister, and aunt. Marta did not like her name Marta Laine and now Laine is a very popular name and a beautiful name it is.
Memories of Marta moving in with Mom 11 years ago with the girls and watching their best friend realtionship develop. Anyone would be jealous of their bond it is one that we all wish for.
Memories of when I would talk to her on the phone she would always ask about how the kids were doing and would end all conversations with "Send my love to the kids." Her neices and nephews meant so much to her.
Memories of her courageous battle with cancer which lasted 5 years during that time we cried, laughed, and began to grow a greater bond with everyone in our family. She was expected to last only a few months after she was diagnosed but her strong heart, love and support from her family kept her going for those 5 years. She just wanted more time with her girls. Because of her will to live she was able to see Rebecca graduate High School and attend college where she is very successful and see Amanda graduate with an LPN degree and working towards her RN degree.
Memories of The Outer Banks Trip, all of our different houses we lived in as kids with Marta always getting her own bedroom since she was the oldest, playing barbie dolls, house, school and sleighriding, trips visiting our cousins and Aunt Bibby and Uncle Jim in LBI, singing songs with our cousin Steven while he played he guitar, trips to Florida and Maine,Make a Wish Foundation sponsored trip to see Mama Mia and lunch at Tavern on The Green, and most importantly the birth of her beautiful daughters Amanda and Rebecca.
Amanda being Mom's first grandchild. Both the girls have bought such joy to our family and will continue to do so for many years to come.
She never missed the plays and musicals of her talented neices Briana and Sammy. As sick as she was 6 days before she went into the hospital she came to see Briana's musical. She said to Mom when it was over that she was happy that she didn't fall asleep during the performance.
Memories of Marta being such a fighter. She would do anything to beat this horrible disese even up to the last week when her doctor said no more chemo Marta said she would do it again. She is truly an inspiration to us all. Marta set such a high standard for being a fighter and she left us with a tough act to follow. After watching her these last 5 years I don't think I could ever say I can;t do this. If Marta did it I can do it. She taught me so much.
We are full of sadness that Marta is not with us anymore but at least she is not suffering or in pain and she is with Daddy and Nana someday to be with us all again.
"God gives us happiness ,tears, life, and death." God Bless my sister Marta Sadowski we will miss you.

Life is a journey with many happenings. Some are full of joy and wonder while others are very difficult and take great courage. Marta certainly showed tremendous strength and courage in these last years of her journey. I will always admire her for this and hope I will show the same courage at the end of my journey. I also want to note the love and support she received from Amanda, Becky, Karen and Janet and their families but expecially from Toni, her loving Mom with her daily loyalty and constancy

Holidays and summers at the shore. She would brush my hair...she wore a bikini on the beach and talked about boys. (I didn't know there were any out there--maybe because I was 7.) She was one of my cool teenager cousins. It was always Marta, Karen, and Janet. For me it always will be Marta, Karen, and Janet--there's just no other way to say those names. With loving memories of our wonderful young years, be at peace.
