John and I had a wonderful trip down "Plainfield" memory lane today. We are so sad to hear of Hilda's passing, but so thrilled to have been blessed to know her.
We have vivid memories of the first time we were invited to Leo and Hilda's home, a 100 degree day in New Jersey humidity, to dip in their beautiful backyard.(It was 1972)We were newleyweds and brand new to New Jersey. Who knew this family would take us into their folds and make us feel so loved?
Hilda welcomed me (a new ER nurse at Muhlenberg working with Leo) and my husband John as if we were her own children. It was my first exposure to a world of gracious entertaining.
The pool was so lovely, the Baron "girls" were my new sisters and the rest is history.
I am so thankful for the lessons you all taught me and I credit Hilda, Sue, Bonnie and families for being such a huge influence on my career as a mother.
Love your ALL.
