I met Paula at Howard while we where in college. I dated her during my senior year and after I graduated. She was a very special person-she always talked about Krispy Creme Donuts and Chic-Fila-at the time those where food establishments only known to those from Atlanta. She worked on the yearbook staff. She was very quirky and funny-with a very big heart and gentle soul-she loved math. Paula was probably one of the smartest people that I have ever known. I'm sure that she will be missed by everyone who knew and loved Paula-My deepest condolences to her Husband David and her Family. Birdy will be missed.

Dear David & Jordan, Mr. & Mrs. Birdsong:
I was stunned to hear the tragic news about Paula. I am a colleague of David's from the Travelers Group days. I remember that David always spoke lovingly about Paula and Jordan. As someone who has lost loved ones I know the pain. And I wish to extend my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. I know that words are little comfort at this time. Unfortunately it is the only way that people can reach out.
I extend my blessings and prayers for serenity during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Antoinette Scerbo

We are so very sorry, and pray that peace comes to all who knew and loved Paula. Warm memories for me are David and I leaving work together at Commercial Credit in 1993, finding Paula and Jordan waiting outside to pick Daddy up. Jordan's smile and glee at seeing her father at the end of a hard day's work, and a husband kissing his wife hello...with time, I pray that we are all thankful for that 'one more day' we have with those we love.
