Obituary of Candice Lavoritano

Candice Jane Lavoritano, 51 years old, from Millington, NJ died Thursday, August 20, 2009 after a 2 year battle with cancer.Candy was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Doris and the late Joseph Kessler. Loving sister to Joseph and Betty Kessler, the late Kenneth Kessler, Eileen and Sam Marcantonio, Cindy and Dave Vill and Steven and Susan Kessler. Candy grew up in Summit, graduated Summit High in 1976. She worked at Just Us/Nickel Street Salon as a Hair Dresser for 30 years and also devoted time at Overlook Hospital as a Beautician for the sick. Candy worked full time as an Administrative Assistant at Watchung Hills High School.Married 27 years, was adored by her husband Nicholas and daughters, Lindsey and Lauren. Candy was very devoted to her husband, children and community.She was a loving and caring aunt to all her nieces and nephews. To our angel above, we will miss you and love you forever.The funeral will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Stirling. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
