I lectured with Stephen many years ago on Domestic Violence and the SANE program. We lost touch over the years and just found out about his passing. He always spoke about his 3 daughters and thought the world of them. My condolences to Stephens family & work family on this tragic loss.

I first met Steve not long after he began his career when we were both working patrol, keeping Plainfield Avenue safe. I can offer no higher praise than he was a cop's cop. Linda, Arlene and I wish to express our deep sympathy to you and your entire family. You may know, we lost our son, Russell Jr., when he was only 8 1/2 years old. We have come to know that it is so unnatural to bury a child. Don't cause yourself further pain, asking "Why?" We will all know that answer in God's due time. Trust in God, know that Stephen is now with John and other loved ones. Please be kind to yourself. All our love and prayers.
Our very best personal regards, Russ and Arlene Thomas, 180 Fairway Drive, Roxboro, NC 27574

Linda,
I was so sad to read about Stephen today.
I remember the times at LBI with all our kids, and how much fun we had.
Occasionally we'll come across some of the pictures from that time. Always brings back a smile.
My sympathy to your family.
