Obituary of Stephen G. Stamler
Warren: Captain Stephen G. Stamler, age 44, died on Friday September 11, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Newark, Mr. Stamler had resided in Berkeley Heights before moving to Warren two years ago.
Captain Stamler served 23 years with the Berkeley Heights Police Department receiving numerous commendations. Prior to his promotion to Captain, he served as Sergeant of Detectives for several years. Mr. Stamler was also a partner at Stamler and Horowitz Custom Home Builders, LLC in Berkeley Heights.
He was predeceased by his father, Prosecutor John H. Stamler
Surviving are his three daughters, Amanda, Jessica and Marissa Stamler all of Berkeley Heights; his mother, Linda Stamler of Gillette; three brothers, Richard of Warren, Gary of Plainsboro and Dennis Stamler of Scotch Plains; a sister, Elizabeth Stamler of Scotch Plains; a nephew, John Stamler and his former wife, Deborah Del Duca.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 14, 2009 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Beth David Cemetery in Kenilworth.
