While we are sad that we have lost our Uncle Sam, we are also grateful that we had him with us for such a long time. Our thoughts and memories are all happy ones filled with shared stories of the wondrous adventures of his life. The lessons learned by us were of courage, care and absolute devotion to country, community, family and friends. He taught us to stand tall and be accountable for life which is a journey to be embraced and lived fully. In tribute, we thank you, Uncle Sam; for all the love that you have given to us for these many years. May you now rest in heaven in well deserved peace.
