Obituary of Edward J. Baro

Edward J. Baro, age 77, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born and raised in Bayonne and had lived in Warren since 1961. Mr. Baro served in the Army during the peacetime. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Peter's University in Jersey City. He was a Sales Engineer for Hamamatsu Corporation in Bridgewater for 22 years, retiring in 2006. Mr. Baro was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and was a member of the Watchung Lions Club for over 40 years. He loved sailing, golfing and going to Pompano Beach every year. He was an avid reader who had a thirst for knowledge and could fix anything. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ward Baro; his sons, Robert Baro of Asbury Park and Gregory Baro of Clinton Township; his daughters, Susan Dorsi of Martinsville and Kathy Baro of Basking Ridge; his sister, Irene Nakonechy of Warren and his grandchildren, Alexandra Baro and Nicolas Baro and Dylan Dorsi. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, December 31st at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:15 Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery.
