Obituary of Doris F. Carlson

Doris F. Carlson, age 75, died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Plainfield she has lived in Warren since 1963. A life member of the Warren Township Rescue Squad, she was once chosen as the "Volunteer Citizen of the Year". She also volunteered for the Women's Auxiliary for Washington Valley Fire Company and the American Legion Post 293 Auxiliary. As a devoted wife, mother and friend, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Surviving is her husband Richard W. Carlson; sons Wayne and his wife Cindy of Warren and Brian of Holland Township; daughters Janet Parolari and her husband Raymond of Bethlehem, NJ and Darlene Ferry and her husband Steven of Williams Twp. PA; sisters Dorothy Leigh of Piscataway and Francis Johnson of Piscataway; grandchildren Amy, Casandra, Jay, Michael, Emma, Faith and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Kayla and Ava. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung interment will follow at Springdale United Methodist Cemetery in Warren. Visitation is on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
