Obituary of Ruth Dorothy Schoneberger

Ruth Dorothy (Breitenbach) Schoneberger, age 85, died on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born and raised in Irvington she had lived in Watchung for the 55 years. Prior to retiring, she worked for the Scotch Plains Board of Education as a Librarian at Park Jr. High School. A member of St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung, she also volunteered at the Watchung Public Library. Ruth was a world traveler who spent her summers at Green Pond in Northern NJ with her husband Warren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader in her spare time. Her favorite expression was "I thought I made a difference". Surviving is her husband Warren Ernest Schoneberger; her son Eric Schoneberger and his wife Wendy of Derry, NH; sister Gerry Breitenbach of Watchung; grandchildren Lisa, Erica and Jared; great-grandchild Ava Lynn; nieces Claire and Frances and nephew Leonard. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Cremation is private.
