Obituary of Lyda E. Orloff

North Plainfield: Lyda E. Orloff, age 92, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Woodlands Center in Plainfield. She was born and raised in Plainfield and spent most of her adult life in North Plainfield. Mrs. Orloff was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a Communicant of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in North Plainfield and a member of the Alter Rosary Society. She belonged to the North Plainfield Women's Club and was a charter member of the Washington Park Historical Association. Mrs. Orloff loved cooking, gardening, traveling and her birds and cats. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, John Orloff in 1977 and her brother, Eugene W. McMahon in 2010. Surviving are her son, John E. Orloff and his wife Monica of Lawrenceville; her daughter, Susan Nicholson of North Plainfield; her brother, Kendall M. McMahon; her sister, Joyce M. Maynard; her grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas and Peter Nicholson and Megan and Darren Orloff and her great-grandchildren, Jason, Ryann and Camryn Nicholson. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, February 20th at 9 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street , Plainfield followed by a 10 am funeral mass at St. Joseph's RC Church in North Plainfield. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield . Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
