Obituary of Josephine Stripto

Josephine Stripto, age 87, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her home in Plainfield. She was a lifelong Plainfield resident. Mrs. Stripto was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed baking. She is predeceased by her husband, James J. Stripto in 1996 and her grandson Robert James Stripto in 1982. Surviving are her sons, Alexander M. Stripto and his wife, Mary and Vincent L. Stripto and his wife, Janet; her brother, Vincent Compolittano and her sisters, Jean Vandergriff and Lois Henderson. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 20th at 9:45 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th St. followed by a 10:45 a.m. funeral mass at St. Bernard's and St. Stanislaus Church in Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J.
