i have many fond memories of aunt grace. they mainly center on rememering her smile, laughter, and generousity of heart. she always made me and all of us "pepe's" feel special. she loved to look at each new family member and remark that he or she was a pepe, making it feel like it surely was a good thing! so, i always cherished my "pepe-ness". when i got married, i could not give up my name - i couldnt begin to fathom it! now my husband joel will sometimes be called "mr. pepe", which we always get a kick out of, (me especially!). at my sister annemaries wedding, i had birds of paradise in my hair. aunt grace laughed and said, "that carole jean, only she would think to put carrots in her hair!"
i will always remember aunt grace and the kindess she always showed each of us, especially my grandfather, and father. now that she is gone, it feels the end of an era. she will surely be missed but not forgotten.
