Dearest Daniel,
Even though we've never met, it feels like I know you so well through our friend, Christi Lovato. Christi would speak so fondly of you everyday. Many times she and I would cry together. I found myself consumed with the thought of you, and I could feel when you were having an especially trying day. I prayed for God to help you and your family each and everyday. You have touched so many lives in your short time here, and the world is a better place because of you. I hope and pray people can learn from your passing how precious life is, and to make each and everyday count. If everyone had been loved the same way you were loved, there would be no wars, or hatred, or ugliness in the world. Thank you for helping to make the world a better place. Rest in peace, dearest Daniel. Love, Denise Lowe, Patient Escort Dept, Hackenack University Medical Center.

Friends and Family of Dan Liss,
My earliest memories of Dan were of playing Pop Warner football. Besides being an excellent player, what really stuck out to me was Danny’s heart and passion to do his best. That really motivated and inspired me as a fellow player. I’ll always remember Mr. Johnson calling him little Danny, Dan hated that back then. So every time Mr Johnson needed him to come up with a big tackle he would call him little Danny and on the next play sure enough, BOOM. Enough said lol. More recently, last summer, i remember spending a lot of time with him at the gym. I remember always have such optimistic and motivation conversations with Danny about any and everything. When i found out that he was sick, i would ask about him often. Everyone’s comments were always similar, in that, how positive and comforting he was. I found that amazing and inspiring. But yet, I knew it was true from knowing him and it made me very proud. I have decided that Danny’s memory will live on that way with me as it did during his life. Whenever i am facing a challenge i will look to danny for motivation and inspiration. I will miss him dearly, God Bless.

One of the most memorable days was the night in NY with Danny, "Z", Adam, Brittany, Chanel, Gina and Doris. It was one of those spur of the moment events. The kids took over the restaurant Mangia e Bevi. Danny was the first to get up on the chair with the tambourine. He had a passion for having fun. The kids were a hit with the wait staff and brought enjoyment to everyone there. In middle school Danny was always the first one Chanel called when she needed someone to talk things thru. He always had a way to take the drama out and make things OK. Danny will always have a special place in our heart. Our prayers are with Gina, Kenny and the rest of the family.

I'll always remember Dan first as the smiling, happy nine-year-old kid on our Bridgewater Panther wrestling team in my first year coaching recreation in Bridgewater in 1998. He always seemed to be in a good mood, and that put everybody else in a good mood too. I did not know Dan very well outside of wrestling. But as I watched him grow in his wrestling career, I realized his smile and good nature also shared a place with his passion for the sport and a fierce determination to win and better himself and those around him. He was a great person, and the finest of young men. I am shocked and saddened by his passing, and my deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

God looked around His garden and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best; He knew you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills are hard to climb, so He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

So many memories since I first met Danny in the third grade when our sons began wrestling together. Our families "grew up" together through the trials and tribulations of wrestling, sharing tears and laughter, and will never forget his smile, kindness, maturity, drive, and ambition. Truly a wonderful family - we are all so sorry for your tremendous loss of Danny. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. With love, the Ives Family

I was lucky enough to first meet Dan when he was in middle school. His smile and positive personality were a stand out, a young man that made you smile.
We(my family) were saddened to hear of his passing. Hoping and praying the Liss Family can find Peace.

I remember the first time I saw Danny. I pinched his cheeks and I told him how cute he was. I did that each and every time I saw him, as if it were the first time. I would also ask him every single time I saw him if he remembered me...he would just laugh and say "of course!" I loved you then, I love you now and I will love you forever sweetheart.
