I came across a folder of keepsakes and found an email from early 2006 where I reached out to Scott to see if we could arrange a meet in NYC. We were great friends during our time at Columbia U. We had a wonderful time at the get together and then drifted apart yet again. This recent keepsake find prompted me to search for Scott only to find this devastating news. It really hit hard. I have such good memories of our time together back then. I am so so sorry.

I was so saddened to hear of Scott's passing. I met Scott through a business venture in the late 1990's called Exist Corporation. he and I were on the Board together and at various times worked closely. He was such a dynamic, positive person whose magnetic personality pervaded every room. We had some great talks and some great times. I will miss Scott and I wish the family my heartfelt condolences at this incredibly sad and difficult time. Scott was, quite simply, a winner.

Dear Sue and family, please accept our deepest condolences on Scott's sudden passing. I have only known Scott for a short time and was looking forward to spending more time with him while participating on the WYBA Board. While my kids did not have the pleasure of being coached by Scott, I watched him coach a number of my friends/neighbors kids and marvelled internally at the positive energy that he eminated from the sideline. He will surely be missed by all. Very sincerely, Mark, Nadine, Tyler, Katelyn & Kelsey

I was a teammate of Scott in college. Scott had an easy smile, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. While I met him through football, he was never consumed by the trappings of that culture. No bravado, just an all-around great guy. College can be a difficult transition,...on your own for the first time, away from family and friends. As a teammate and friend Scott certainly helped ease that transition for all of us.

I met Scott playing football at Columbia. We played defensive back together.
The first time I met him I remember thinking: he looks just like Joe Namath! Namath was the quarterback who led the New York Jets to a Super Bowl victory in 1969, and was my childhood idol. Maybe it was this, or maybe it was his personality; whatever the reason I always felt good being around Scotty.
But you couldn't HELP but feel good around Scott. He had an incredibly positive attitude. There was no challenge he couldn't meet or overcome. And his enthusiasm was contagious; he was the guy in the huddle who was always pumping everyone up, getting each of us to raise his game on the next play.
Lastly, Scotty went at everything full tilt. Often the smallest guy on the field, he made up for it with his speed and aggressiveness. He did everything at full speed. With his white arm bands and white cleats he was a flash and a blur, and opposing receivers would never know what hit them.
When you spend time with someone on a team, at a certain age and for some length of time working hard toward a common goal, there's a connection created that supercedes time and space and the challenges of life that keep people apart. I had that connection with Scott. I'll always remember him. I miss him already.
Susan, Kelsey, Kaitlyn and Kyle I am very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do to help in any way please don't hesitate to call upon me.

To those of us who have had the wonderful pleasure of sharing this world with Scott, know that every breath, every thought, every word, and every action this man took was for a greater good than himself. His sincerity, his warmth, his compassion, his quick-witted retorts, his camaraderie, his benevolence, and his sense of humor filled our lives with countless moments of joy, laughter and gratitude. Scott was above all things, a wonderful husband, an amazingly generous hands-on father & a friend, a REAL friend to all of us. As I sit here and write this final note remembering countless summers we've spent together, the endless conversations we've had in our backyard which made all of us simultaneously burst into laughter, or the many delicious meals we've prepared together, I can't help but chuckle to myself at all the silly memories we've shared with Scott & his beautiful family. I guess the lumps in our throats will wane slowly, the heaviness in our hearts will lighten with each passing day, but we know this world will never be the same without you; we also know that you'd want us to celebrate your life as you did here on this earth, with good food and friends and copious amounts of laughter. As difficult as it is to accept that you're gone, we take solace in knowing you're in Heaven more than likely preparing a yummy meal for all the other Angels at this very moment. Good bye for now our friend, you'll remain in our hearts forever. Our loving thoughts, prayers and healing continue to be with The Andersen Family.

To Scott's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my father in May, and all the messages, cards and expressions of sympathy really touched our family. I hope these little notes will help you too, knowing that your loved one has reached into so many people's lives.
I was in Scott's high school class of '78. I remember him back in 9th grade in the Music Man with Jackie Krawiec. What a great show at such a young age! Scott was an all-around great guy, involved in everything and friends with many groups. I was a cheerleader and watched many a basketball or football game that he was in. We also were in student council together, NHS, class govt. and probably a handful of classes together. Hamburg was a wonderful school, so believe all the stories he told you! We had a great class of kids. When you feel up to it, dig out his yearbooks and know that many of these people shared a lot of good times with him and will join me in wishing you thoughts and prayers at this time. God Bless
