Ms. Schoenborn was one of the most caring and compassionate teachers I ever had!
I last saw her at the 20th reunion and had so much fun talking to her....she was a great woman with a terrific sense of humor.
Please accept my condolences.
Sincerely,
Diane Castner

I was in the Class of '67. My first vivid memory of Ruth was as a freshman- we had to try on our gym suits (Sea foam green)and her comment to most of us was, "It'll fit your porch but not your swing!" I was glad to have an opportunity to know her outside of school. Each summer she worked in some unusual place and one summer we worked together in the meat room of the Stirling Shop-Rite. She was quite a different person outside of school. She even told me to call her "Ruth!" Certainly not the same MISS Schoenborn we knew in school. May you rest in peace.
Love,
Wendy

I am a former student from WHRHS Class of 1967 and I will never forget having Miss Schenborn as my PE Teacher for the four years that I was at WHRHS. Her voice was always on the loud speaker at the end of each day, rounding up a list of students who were invited to join her after school. She was tough, but I always respected her. Thank you Ruth, for your guidance during the early years of my life. May you rest in peace.

Ruth was one of a kind. Whether it was instructing us in square dancing, (my, times have changed) or volleyball, she was a class act and part of a great generation of teachers. May her memory be eternal.

I have such fond memories of Ms. Schoenborn. She was not only my gym teacher in the late 60's at WHRHS but also one of those very special people who helped me through a lot. It was always fun to run into her here and there over the years and just chat about life. It was an honor and a priviledge to have known her.

I knew Miss Schoenborn as my gym teacher at WHRHS from 1969-1973, and then through my association with the Watchung Hills Adult School from the mid-1980's until 2000. But my favorite memories of her were the times I'd run into her in downtown Warren and we'd just chat about life. She always remembered my husband's and childrens' names. Or she'd ask how my mother's health was. She was really quite amazing that way. The Watchung Hills area lost one of it's gems on Saturday. Thanks, Miss Schoenborn, and God bless you. I grew up in Watchung and lived close by to Ruth. Ruth was my softball coach and gym teacher in 1980 - 1983. She was a wonderful woman. I do have very fond memories of her and was saddened to hear the news of her passing. I remember when she used to visit her mother at Runnels and stop by to see my grandmother. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and the family
