Obituary of Ruth E. Schoenborn

Ruth E. Schoenborn, 77, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Runnells Specialized Hospital, Berkeley Heights. Born in Shadyside, Ohio, she resided in Elizabeth before moving to Watchung 30 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1995, Ruth was employed since 1957 years as a gym teacher at Watchung Hills Regional High School. She was involved with the Adult School Program for 18 years and Klub House Kids, an After School Day Care program in Watchung. After retirement, Ruth enjoyed golf and as a longtime animal lover, busied herself walking dogs and caring for dogs and cats. A longtime active member of Wilson Memorial Union Church in Watchung, she volunteered at the Watchung Rescue Squad. Surviving are a niece, Janet Siberine, her husband Bob and their son, Danny; a nephew, Thomas Sperry and a great nephew, David Sperry, Jr. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Wilson Memorial Union Church, Valley Rd. and Hillcrest Blvd., Watchung. Cremation was held privately. Arrangements by Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
