A wonderful person. Cultured, open-minded, creative, and truly understood how to raise a family. My heart goes out to Lyn, Eric, Lisa, and family.
My favorite memories... Roy took Eric and I to the driving range when we were freshman in high school. He was so funny and encouraging. That was the first time I met Mr. Schneider. Every time I walked into their house from then on, I would hear a loud "GITI!!" from Roy with a big smile. He always took the time to sit down and talk with me to see what was going on in my life. He genuinely took interest and for that, I will always be appreciative. I sometimes felt like I was talking to my own dad. That's how much love he showed to Eric's friends. Nothing but pure positivity and peaceful vibes from a man who lived a beautiful life.

Roy and I were classmates at RHS, class of '69. It was unfortunate that we did not stay in touch through the years. However, I do have great memories of our friendship during those high school years as we shared a few classes together and enjoyed a few laughs together. If you go to the last page of '69 yearbook you will see a great picture of Roy. It's the way I will remember him. My condolences go out to the entire Schneider family.

Hi Lyn,
Roy and i were classmates together at RHS, class of 1969. Together with Tony, Marvin, Bugs,Peter Milano, and others, we managed to navigate our high school years in a way that was unique and always full of good cheer and fun. Although Roy and I hadn't stayed in close contact over the years, we did manage to talk from time to time. Roy was a stand-up individual, as well as a terrific person. He'll be missed by all.
Regards,
Sam

I met Roy the first day of Kindergarten and I count him among my friends from that day on. To say he was well liked is an understatement as he always showed kindness to everyone. To the neighbor kids he was called "Ratch", was our natural leader in all things with his charisma and good looks, whether it was football, baseball, basketball, a party or playing poker. We all loved him, looked up to him, and he never let us down. After high school we lost touch, but to this day I believe if any of us ever needed his help he would be there if he was asked. He was just a swell guy! My love to all who were touched by his presence as we all feel his loss, but cherish the memories and acknowledge that we were blessed to have known him and had him in our lives.

Roy, you will always be in my thoughts and always be in the last page of my yearbook. I am so happy that we begged you to come to reunion and happy that I got some time to talk to you, after all everyone wanted a piece of you. I just spoke to Marvin and he told me how you were the best man at his wedding. The years have flown by, and you looked so handsome when last we all saw you. My heart goes out to Lyn, your children - but memories will always be a big part of their lives - peace out - Leslie

Roy's unbelievable wit combined with his sincere empathy made a lasting impression on everyone that knew him. These aren't traits that can be taught, yet he succeeded in passing them on to both his children. Roy was one of the few who genuinely understood what truly matters in life, and there's no doubt his passing will only serve to validate his philosophy in the minds of all who knew him. I'll miss you Roy.

Don’t think of him as gone away-
His journey has just begun
Life holds many facets
The Earth is only one
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness can really pass away
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And he was loved so much.
~ Ellen Brenneman

Roy had the ability to "light up the room" when he entered anywhere. His sense of humor is legend. Although I did not know him as well as many of you, he treated me like family and made me feel welcome and "special" whenever I saw him. Of course, he made everyone feel this way. The love he and Lyn share is inspiring. Their relationship is an example of how we should treat the people we love every single day. Thank you, Roy, for enriching my life. May God bless and keep you always.

We remember the time we spent visiting NJ over Christmas 2009. Our children were amazed at the warmth and love that Roy had with his extended family. We could see how proud he was of his children. The time we spent with Roy and the family was far to short. We will miss Roy's smile and optimism and energy. -- Kevin, Monica, Colin, Patrick, and Victoria.

I have many fond memories, but one of the best was when he introduced me to Lyn (I think I may have met the 240Z first). Roy was always cool and when he added Lyn to the mix He (they) was a force no one could touch. We are pained by his passing, but our lives are so very much enriched for having him. Roy will always be in our hearts.
