Sr. Mary Anina was the most wonderful teacher I have had the privilege of meeting. She gave me a FABULOUS education. She fulfilled her mission here on earth and if there is Paradise, she will be very close to G-D. Joseph Siciliano

I was privileged to have Sr. Anina for English. She was FABULOUS and I loved her. May she rest in Eternal peace with Christ.

Reading her obituary, I can only think that she enjoyed A Life Well Spent. Tough, but fair, she loved her pupils and thought of them as nothing less than Lord's children. Thank you for having the patience and courage to teach life's important lessons.

Sr. Anina was my 12th grade English teacher. I have credited her (and Sister Roberta) for my love of Shakespeare. When we read Macbeth, Sr. Anina made it come alive for me. As an elective during my last semester in college I took a Shakespeare course in part because of Sr. Anina's inspiration. I have kept in touch with her over the years; she remembered me from H.S. (St. Mary's Perth Amboy '67). My friend Gail and I visited Sister in Red Bank a few years back. She was the embodiment of what the Mercy Sisters were meant to be: a guiding light to their students. I hope that she will continue to pray for me as she always had through the years.

Dear Sister Anina! A beautiful, gentle, lovely, loving and kind soul. She taught us at St. Mary's in Perth Amboy. Endlessly patient with us. Always, ALWAYS encouraging! She gave us a deep and lasting love of literature. And she was fun, delighting in our efforts! So happy that two of us went to visit her last year and had a wonderful visit.
To paraphrase her beloved Shakespeare: (I don't think she'd mind...)
"...and, when she shall die,
Take her and cut her out in little stars,
And she will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun..."
We pray that Sister is enjoying her reward with our Creator...and may perpetual Light shine upon her...
