Obituary of Concetta D'Angelo

Concetta M. D'Angelo, age 73, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born and raised in Staten Island and lived in Bridgewater for the past 30 years. Mrs. D'Angelo received her Bachelor's Degree from Hunter College and her Master's Degree from Wagner College. She completed 30 credits towards her Doctorate Degree in Education at Raritan Valley Community College. She was a teacher for 37 years at PS 8 and PS 36 in Staten Island. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling around the world with her husband. She was also an avid piano player. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. D'Angelo is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John J. D'Angelo; her children, John, Doug, Robert, Laurie and Debbie; her brother, Joseph Iacovino and her sister, Frances Flanigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John, Brittany, Scott, Mark, Michael, Joseph, Courtney, Maria, Bobby, Todd, Brian, Christina, Anthony, Vinny and Matthew. Funeral services will begin on Monday, April 18th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
