It was with great sadness that we received the news from Jeff of John's passing. He was a great friend and a mentor in many respects.
It was in July of 1977 that the Blackadar and Angus families met as a result of both families joining The Beaumaris Yacht Club in Muskoka. From that point on we forged a treasured relationship involving all aspects of cottage life.
Every summer it is a highlight to have the Blackadars in Muskoka; however sad when they close their cottage and return to Watchung.
John was a very special person in my life -whether it be tennis or golf, first and foremost it was all about a few laughs and a great time. He certainly had my number on the tennis court whether by one of his patented shots at the net or serve that had me running almost to the next court in an effort to make a return.
John was a master navigator in rough waters-he knew how to use the islands to his advantage, a tactic I now use.
We will miss John at all our Muskoka dinners however the Angus Blackadar tradition will continue.
Our condolences to the Blackadar family- we are thinking of you and will be, particularly on Wednesday. We wish we were with you in Watchung.
Love
Arthur, Marilyn, Andrew and Joanna
