Obituary of Joseph Moriarty
Joseph B. Moriarty, age 65, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Bound Brook. He is a native of Plainfield and had lived in Arizona before moving back to NJ. He has resided in Manville for the past eight years.
Mr. Moriarty received his Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Raritan Valley Community College. He worked as a Legal Research Associate for many years. He also attended St. Leo's College in Florida.
He loved baseball, having been a pitcher at St. Leo's College. He was an avid Mets fan. He also enjoyed watching horse racing especially the Kentucky Derby.
He is predeceased by his brother, John Moriarty and his sister, Mary Ellen Imhof.
Mr. Moriarty is survived by his daughter, Maureen Albert and her husband, Bill of Tuscon, AZ; his two sons, Brian Moriarty and his wife Karrie of Tuscon, AZ and Kevin M. Moriarty and his wife, Erica of Gilbert, AZ; his long time companion, Priscilla A. Seader: his brother-in-law, Lawrence Imhof of Green Brook. He also survived by six grandchildren, Austen, Aaron and Shawn Albert, Matthew David, Connor Edward and Madison Della Moriarty; his niece, Kathleen Coleman of Charlotte, NC and his extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Interment will be at St. Gertrude's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
