Bob served as a volunteer for the Student Senior Connection- a program that linked seniors with elementary schools to share their expertise. As coordinator for the program for 13 years, Bob was an extraordinary addition to this program. He consistently went to a 4th grade classroom and shared his love for math and science with eager students. So sorry to hear of his passing. I will hold many fond memories of him and his bright smile.

Anne and Family, words can't express how much much Bob meant to the JCC family. I will always remember fond memories of sharing travel stories or of the many laughs at holiday parties. Bob was truly a great man and he will be dearly missed.

Dear Bob,
It’s been a while since I have written to you, and I want to remedy that. I started this letter in my head, while I was walking my dog early this afternoon. It was our first long walk since I returned from Guatemala, and allowed me some “think” time. I wanted you to know that you have been in my thoughts, and my prayers, even while I was viewing Mayan ruins, or in the depths of the jungle.
You might smile at the image of me in the jungle—no hot water, no roads, electricity provided by generator from 5 pm to 10 pm only. Sharing a rustic cabin with a shy woman from Hightstown, returning to our cabin after dinner (the food WAS surprisingly good!) by flashlight to find another tenant in the room—a large black spider, on the netting over the bed. Nancy, the heroine, takes her shoe to whack him—much to my roommate’s horror. She, the shy one, found a cup and a piece of paper and trapped him in the plastic cup. My role was to open the door so she could put him outside safe and unharmed. We repeated this procedure each of the three nights we were there! And each of the spiders was large and different!
Now I learn from Tracy’s call that you are already with the angels. Perhaps even so, you will know I was thinking of you, and wishing you well, and Godspeed. Look for Don when you get to Heaven. He’ll be glad to see you. Perhaps you can even play some golf. I know his spirit would appreciate your company. Give him a hug for me, and have a good game.
In Heaven, the sun is always shining, and the wind is always on your back.
Goodbye, my friend…
Love,
Nancy

My deepest sympathies to all of the Kirk family. Although I've known the Kirk family for many years I met Bob or "Sr." as we called him only about a year ago at one of Sr. And Jr.'s weekend golf outings. He was a warm and loving man that will be sorely missed. May all the greens in heaven roll true for you Bob.

Goodness, so much heartache. I'm so sorry. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. The only comfort we can hope for is that he is with his sister and brother-in-law and they are having one heck of a party. He is loved and missed by us all.
