Obituary of Robert C. Kirk

Robert C. Kirk, age 75, died on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Warren for the past 30 years. Bob graduated from Brooklyn Tech in 1955; he attended classes at Brooklyn College where he met Anne in the summer of 1956. They were married on April 8, 1961. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1967. Bob received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Pratt Institute in 1969 and joined PSE&G as an Engineer. Bob held numerous management positions at PSE&G in his 31 years of service. He took most pride in being Chief Design Engineer during the construction of the Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plants. Bob was the President of the Pocono Chapter of PSE&G Retirees Club. Bob's priorities were always his family and his faith. He was an active member of his parish where he and Anne served as Eucharistic Ministers, and volunteered at St. Anne's Kitchen and the JCC in Bridgewater. He and Anne traveled frequently; when he was home, he could generally be found on the golf course, entertaining friends, and working on projects around the house. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anne Burns Kirk; his children, Robert C. Kirk, Jr. and his wife, Tracy and Patricia Carper and her husband, Michael and his grandchildren, Jessica Kirk, Brian Kirk, Chelsea Carper and Stephanie Carper. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 17th at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary; s Stony Hill Church. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.
