Sister Mary Louise Coyle, former Sister Mary Rosario, Sister of Mercy
Sister Mary Lou, 84 died on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Sister Mary Lou was born in Riverside, NJ and entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1948. She earned a BS degree in Elementary Education and an MA in Education from Seton Hall University in NJ.
Sister Mary Lou taught in both Trenton and Metuchen Diocese for more than fifty years. Teaching in St Joseph School, Trenton; St Francis School, Metuchen; Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield; St James School, Woodbridge, St Joseph School, North Plainfield where she was teacher and librarian and St. Paul School, Burlington where she also served as Principal.
For most of her sixty years as a Sister of Mercy Sister Mary Lou was devoted to serving the Lord through her work to educate and inspire young people.
In 1991 St Joseph School, North Plainfield designated Sister Mary Lou as its nominee for Outstanding Educator in the Diocese of Metuchen.
She is survived by her brothers, John Coyle, George and his wife Arlene Coyle, her sisters, Patricia Coyle and Evelyn Rose Bloodgood and sister-in-law Yvonne Coyle all from NJ. She has many loving nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and caring Sisters of Mercy.
Visitation will take place at McAuley Hall Health Care Center 1633 Highway 22 Watchung, NJ on Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:30 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Thursday March 1, Wake from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin, NJ at a later date.
