Obituary of Manfred P. Salemke

Bridgewater: Manfred Paul Salemke, age 60, died in his home on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Born in Uetersen Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, he resided in Hamburg and moved to the United States in 1970, as a Manager for the Midwest Region of Helm U.S. He lived in Chicago, New York, Tokyo, and has resided in Bridgewater for 24 years. Manfred worked for 42 years at Helm US Corporation. He was extremely dedicated to his work and it meant everything to him. He began working in the mailroom and worked his way up to President of Helm US, (which included North and South America,) where he held that title for 15 years. Mr. Salemke loved music and good food. He took pride in his home and took time to mow his lawn and wash his collection of cars. He is predeceased by his stepdaughter, Ginger Truan, in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Lupe Gonzalez Salemke of Bridgewater; his son, Erik Paul Salemke and his brother, Rainer Salemke of Germany. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Disposition will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6-10 p.m.
