I recently learned of Phil's passing in Sept 2015. I attended undergraduate as well as law school with Phil. My strongest memory of Phil during law school days was that he lived with his grandfather in order to help take care of him. I followed Phil's sterling career over the years and his success. However, probably the greatest memory I have from those younger days was his humility and pleasantness. My thoughts are with his family.

Phil was a good friend from our teen years. Those years were very special, baseball, swimming, Miracle Ranch Camp, Kings Teens Bible study's , trip to MT. Rainier. In 1973 he drove to California, for my wedding. On his way to L.A.B.C. he stayed over night in our house in Paradise CA. , at that time he expressed his desire to form a company to help people in Christian organizations. I could see he had a real heart for GOD. From reading his BIO I could see that Phil did many of the things he felt GOD wanted him to do. Mark Cornwell

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Phil and I worked together at C&L and PwC. He was a partner when I met him as a staff member, and he began to mentor me, a circumstance I will always appreciate. He did that even though I was not in the tax department as he was, but rather was on the audit staff. What was immediately apparent about Phil was not just his intelligence but his genuineness. He was a principled and honorable man who showed his qualities by his actions. He not only taught me about business, he taught me to sail and I remember fondly, afternoons spent on his boat scudding around Manhattan. Although in recent years our paths crossed infrequently, I have not forgotten him or his kindness to me. Sleep in Heavenly Peace, my friend.
I hope peace strength and comfort surround you and the family as you walk through this trying time.

Dear Julie,
My brother Kelunni and I attended YP in 1980 at Calvary Baptist Church where Philip was the founder and leader of the class held at a coffee shop on West 56th Street. I was also in Joan Zeldin's bible study group.
Our condolences to you and to your family. I was inspired when I read the obituary on Philip's lifelong ministry, in and outside the church. He faithfully served his Lord and was a wonderful steward of God's gifts to him.
May God bless and keep you and your loved ones with the comfort that we will meet again at Jesus' feet.
Warm regards, Devaki.

I had the pleasure of meeting Phil in August of 2013. After he watched me photographing his plane, he asked what kind of camera I had, and immediately offered me a ride. I obliged. What a true gentleman! Blue Skies, Friend. Rest in Peace.

To all of Phil's family:
I had the pleasure or working with Phil at C&L and PwC and have great respect for the contributions he made to the firm in the valuation practice but also his contributions at the board level. He was a great mentor and leader to those working with him to build a practice and serve clients. I think many of us also found it inspiring to watch him live his strong religious beliefs in an otherwise secular environment. May Phil rest in peace.

We weep with those left behind as we adjust carrying the Good News light to a dark world,

To Julie, Cynthia, and the entire Clements family:
We at The C12 Group have had the pleasure of collaborating with Phil and his CFCBET team on a few occasions over the years and I've personally had the pleasure of hosting Phil and Julie in our NC office during their travels through the Carolinas. The occasion of the passing of any committed follower of Christ is bittersweet. We'll miss laboring together in the flesh for God's glory through the marketplace while also being reminded of our eternal victory in Christ and the assurance of His secure promises. We know that being absent from the body means being present with the Lord for those who trust in Jesus. As part of the "long crimson line" in Christ, we can also rest in God's timing and promises to use every earthly trial and sorrow for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Therefore, we can celebrate Phil's "early graduation" into the remaining 99.9999+% of his eternal life knowing that he is celebrating in the presence and with oneness with the Lover of our Souls. Meanwhile, back on this broken planet, while we await the return of our triumphant King, may Phil's tribe increase... as millions come to a saving knowledge of Christ through the leadership and work of faithful servant leader at the helm of businesses across this land! Every blessing to the Clements family as you celebrate a life well-lived in the light of an even more exciting eternity!
Yours in Christ,
Don Barefoot

I didn't know Phil, but from what I knew of him through Janet, Diane, Laura and Cindy, I feel like I did and certainly wish I had. We know that words cannot ever express the depths of our grief, sympathy or sorrow for your loss, but for now they are the only tools we have. On grieving, Rumi once wrote "Do not grieve. Anything you lose will come 'round in another form." Although this brings little comfort in regards to the one we have lost, I believe it to be true for those who are left behind. Phil embodied joy, love and dedication. He was a bright light in the Clements and Konz family and served as a source of comfort and inspiration to many. But through all the members of the Konz family who have adopted me over the years, I see those same qualities. Phil contributed to the growth of some of the most loving, kind, dedicated, inspiring women I have ever known and I know that some of his best qualities live on in the women who know and love him. As weak as words may seem at a time like this, they are the thing allows us to share his memory with others-- to keep his name on your lips is to keep him close to your heart. I wish you all comfort in this time of grief.

Dear family of Philip Clements,
I was deeply saddened to learn about Phil's tragic death. Phil was a mentor and friend to me for many years. I started my career at Coopers in 1995 as a summer intern from Columbia Business School working directly for Phil. He was so kind to me and cared so much about my career. At times, I would literally sit in his office from morning to night learning from him. I was promoted with support from Phil each year and ultimately to partner when PwC CVC was sold to S&P in 2001. Phil also helped me to be the leader of a new business practice called Law Firm Services which was very successful. Phil was always full of positive words, encouraging, a great leader, a man of principles, and someone I enjoyed working for. He also reminded me that even though career is important, family and religion are even more important. I live my life with that in mind to this day. I am a Managing Director working with Duff & Phelps and we have experienced greater levels of success. But I have not forgotten the support and caring that Phil provided in those first ten critical years of my career. I appreciated it then and appreciate it now. I wish I could tell him myself but please accept this thank you on his behalf.
I unfortunately cannot attend the viewing or funeral due to the Jewish Holiday of Rosh Hashanah.
I would be gratified to continue to share further my recollections with you by phone (cell 2013902004) or email, if that offers you a measure of comfort.
With deep condolences,
Allen Pfeiffer

My heart has been so heavy since first hearing of Phil's death. I cannot imagine the loss that all of you are feeling and you have been daily in my prayers. Phil was an amazing person and it would be impossible for anyone to replace him. I remember a conversation with him after Pam's wedding when I asked him how he felt marrying off his final daughter. He said "I am so glad to know that all of my daughter's are set up for a good life." I could hear his father heart in that statement because I knew that above all, the well being of his girls was one of his highest priorities. He was a blessing to know and his love for his savior was evident in his outstanding character. Heaven's gain is leaving a huge vacuum down here and he is going to be so very missed. May God's presence and comfort bring that peace that passes all understanding today and in the days to come. Love you all, Shelli Rehmert

Julie, Julie, Pam, Cindy, and the entire Clements family: May the peace and love of our Lord, and the numerous prayers sent your way, comfort you during this difficult time.
Thank you Phil for the numerous opportunities, travels around the world, and overall Iife experiences while mentoring me to be the professional I am today. As Kimberly rightly said, "I will deeply miss his wisdom, his matchless energy and enthusiasm (even after 16-hour days!), and his ability to be an amazing visionary." Your Christian leadership will be missed by the countless lives you touched and your spirit will continue in the lives and careers you moved forward, including mine.
