Obituary of Carol Ann Spratford

Carol Ann (Daciuk) Spratford, age 68, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born in Plainfield, she grew up in Middlesex before moving to Watchung where she lived for many years before recently relocating to North Carolina. Prior to retiring, Carol worked for her family's companies Spratford Sales Associates in Watchung and Security Structures, Inc. in Basking Ridge as a bookkeeper. Carol was a member of the Watchung Garden Club, an avid member of the Watchung Republican Party and the local Laurel League. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling the world, reading and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Elmer Edmund Spratford in 2001; her parents, Jeannette Reed Daciuk in 2014 and her father, Paul Daciuk in 1985; her granddaughter Beth Spratford in 2004 and her brother Robert Daciuk. Surviving is her daughter Jill Funk and her husband Russell of Wilmington, NC; her step-sons Bruce Spratford and his wife Maria, James Spratford and his wife Gelsomina, Kenneth Spratford, Mark Spratford and his wife Donna, and Scot Spratford and his wife Patti; 12 grandchildren; her brother Tom Daciuk and sister Judith Thomas. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services and burial will be private.
