Obituary of Kathryn R. Creighton

Kathryn R. Creighton, age 62, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. She was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in South Plainfield. Kathryn graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1972 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kean College. In 1978, Kathryn married her best friend Thomas Creighton and eventually moved to Bridgewater where they raised their two children and had resided for the past 30 years. She began her career as a substitute teacher and then worked for Adamsville School in Bridgewater as an Intervention Specialist. Most recently, she worked for the Manville Public School system. Kathryn was an active member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Somerville. She enjoyed reading, adding to her sea glass collection, and spending time with her family at their home on Long Beach Island. She was a wonderful, caring, woman that was loved by many and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Creighton, her son Jeffrey Creighton, her daughter, Karin Wolosz and her husband, Matthew, and her brother, George A. Lee, Jr. A Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26th from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at 11 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 300 Union Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County, P.O. Box 149, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
