Obituary of Joseph Maffiore
Joseph Maffiore, age 81, died on Friday January 3, 2014 at the Golden Pond Assisted Living Center in Hopkinton MA. Born in Union, Mr. Maffiore had resided in Warren for many years before moving to Toms River.
He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. In the service he was part of the Air Force band, playing the saxophone.
Prior to his retirement in 1983 Mr. Maffiore worked as a salesman for New Jersey Bell Yellow Pages for over 20 years.
He loved jazz, fishing, and boxing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Rose Maffiore in 2001 and four brothers Michael, John, Thomas and Patrick.
He is survived by his two sons Keith Maffiore and his wife Mary of Hopkinton MA and Craig Maffiore and his wife Lisa of Syracuse NY; two grandchildren Allison and Steven Maffiore and two sisters Rose D'Urso and Lena D'Urso. He is also survived by many loving extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday January 9th 2014 from 10-12:30pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung NJ. Funeral services will be immediately following at 12:30 at the funeral home including entombment at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung.
