Noreen’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

I was truly sorry to hear the passing of our dear Noreen. Over the years I always enjoyed
our family gathering and seeing Noreen as she was always so happy to be around beside
being very pretty. I am so sorry for her loss and know she is with the rest of the family up
in heaven having one heck of a time.

Mom, you were a loving light to all you touched on Earth and now are surely a shining angel in Heaven. I feel blessed to have had you in my life. You were beautiful inside and out - an example to us all. Your legacy lives on in the warmth, kindness, and caring ways of your children, grandchildren, family and friends. Even though you are no longer walking with us, I know you will always be just a thought away from those who love you.I will carry the memories of your loving and graceful ways in my heart forever, and look forward to meeting you again someday on the other side. <3

When you encountered my Mom, be it the first time or the thousandth, she would meet you with a gentle and graciously unassuming forwardness. Her eyes never strayed from yours as she fully engaged you with effortless sincerity and warmth. Her caring was genuine, as was her smile. You came away from your moment with her feeling better about things, or maybe even wanting to better yourself because she set the bar so high for how to treat others.
Mom’s faith was unwavering but she never judged or evangelized. You simply witnessed God’s hand in all that she did, as she embraced His word and His love in her daily life. She never missed Sunday Mass, or any Holy Day, for that matter. That is, until the end stages of her disease at which point she began to follow Mass on television and would often pray the Rosary. She was one of God’s most faithful, and those who knew her are inspired by her devotion. That devotion didn’t end with the Church. She was devoted to her family almost to a fault, you might say. But then, Mom would only remind you that she was being selfish because it was being with her family and doing for her family that brought her the most joy in her life.
The list of ailments and physical issues with which my Mom was challenged was a long one. Yet, she considered herself to be so blessed, and she regarded each member of her family and extended family a blessing. In fact, in Mom’s final hours, the nurse in ICU wished that a few of those “blessed blessings” would have vacated the room, as the rules didn’t allow for more than four visitors and Mom was surrounded by about thirty. What a wonderful expression of love from all.
When I think of my Mom, I will recall the importance of faith and family; her heartfelt handwritten words inside of holiday and birthday cards; strength and humility; how she could make each and every one of her grandchildren feel as if he or she was her favorite; leg of lamb and mint jelly.

My “big sister” Noreen (“Naw-nee”) was always a constant and direct reminder – even more significantly after the death of our mother Rose – of the goodness she inherited from our mother Rose. She successfully modeled that love and caring to her faithful and dedicated husband Bob (my brother) and her sons and daughters (my nieces and nephews - who are virtually my younger brothers and sisters!) all of their lives. Nawnee, I know you are in heaven and finally feeling completely healthy and happy forever more – that is what you deserve in full measure. I love you and miss you and will always treasure the unswerving dedication you humbly accepted as a wife, mother, sister and rightful heir to our mother Rose’s ways, by reflecting that goodness and love from which we all benefited greatly. Pray for us Nawnee – God listens to you and heaven is greater now that you are there! Your “baby” brother, Dennis.
