Obituary of Daniel L. Watkins
Daniel L. Watkins, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born in Medina, NY and from the ages of 5 to 13 years, lived in French Equatorial Africa and then from age 13 to 17 at Wheaton Academy in Illinois. He has resided in North Plainfield since 1978.
He successfully managed five workers compensation safety groups in New York State for 32 years.
Mr. Watkins loved Country, Western and Gospel singing, piano, fishing, traveling and loved to tell jokes.
He is predeceased by his brother, Philip Watkins.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Watkins; his son, Russell Watkins and his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Jody Roberts and her husband, John; his grandchildren, Danny, Kenny, Johnny, Tommy, Katie, Andrew, William and Caroline; his siblings, David Watkins, Paul Watkins, Linda Castellanos and Luke Watkins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bernardsville.
