Obituary of Alan Tong

Alan Tong was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and spent much of his life in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

He graduated from Ridge High School and continued his education at Northwestern University.

He created magic in the kitchen, thought and wrote deeply, sang sweetly, and played guitar, piano, violin, and more. He lived in all different places and met endless people who welcomed and returned his openness and kindness. His loving energy reached far and wide. He sensed that we are all very strong and have a wealth of inner resources to draw upon to hold ourselves and each other.

His mom, Lian, his dad, Wei-Qin (Tony), his sister, Amy, and his dog, Layla, as well as the rest of his family, wish him a safe and peaceful passing.

A gathering time for viewing will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 10am at Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung, NJ, followed by a memorial service at 11am.
