Obituary of Marilyn Wender
Marilyn Wender, 87, of Warren, NJ, passed away August 8th, 2019 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Joseph and Helen Brenner, June 13th, 1932, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated from Verona High School, June 13th, 1950 and the Katherine Gibbs School of Montclair NJ, in 1951. Marilyn married Chet Wender, the love of her life, in Verona NJ, August 29th, 1952. They lived together in Westfield, NJ and Warren, NJ for the next 67 years.
Marilyn took great pride in providing a loving home for her family. She was also an avid gardener, looking forward to Springtime when her flower beds would begin blooming and she could tend to her gardens.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Chet, four children: Brian of Newport RI, Deborah of Hopkinton RI, Paul of White House Station NJ and Celeste of Quincy MA. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A viewing ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 13th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. There will be a funeral mass 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 14th at Our Lady of the Mount, Warren NJ, followed by a burial ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Memorial flowers can be sent to the Higgins Home for Funerals, and donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Marilyn’s name.
