I met Johnnie and Helena about ten years ago. Helena and I became friends almost immediately and enjoy a bond that is rare these days. Johnny was always kind and pleasant. He never seemed bothered by my presence in their lives. I am deeply saddened by his death. He was the type of person who always gave you honesty. And in spite of his illness, he was a strong, proud man. I know that Helena will need all our prayers and support. She devoted her life to making sure Johnnie enjoyed the best life possible. When Martha sought comfort from Jesus after losing her brother, Jesus told her “Your brother will rise.” And he did rise that very day. And Johnnie will rise too! (John 5:28,29) I look forward to that wonderful day. My heartfelt condolences to the family.
