Joyce lives in my heart and prayers. Hers was a life well lived. I had many creative classes with Sister Joyce at Georgian Court. She taught me the beauty of calligraphy and patiently sat for me so I could paint her portrait.
I remember how happy Sister Joyce was to have a personal tour of The Starn Twins art exhibit at the Met. She emailed me to hurry and see their amazing show, which I did.
Mike and Doug Starn, two internationally known artists from Absecon, NJ, were two of Sister Joyce's former HS students who built a 30'x40' bamboo construction on the sculpture roof garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2010, they gave Sr. Joyce a personal tour of the creative pathways through Big Bambu, as it was called.
I will miss you, Sister Joyce. To Joyce's family: May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sr. Joyce was my art teacher at Holy Spirit High School from 1970-1972. Not only was Sister my teacher, but also someone I looked up to with great respect. She was never too busy to take the time to show you any techniques to make your sketch easier, nor too busy to just talk. A tre inspriation!

My prayers and condolences to the family of Sister Joyce. My most enjoyable moments during my four years at Holy Spirit High School were spent in Sister Joyce's Art room. She will be remembered fondly by her students.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your sister.
Sr Joyce was my Art Teacher in HSHS. More than that she was a mentor and friend.
We went to Europe together in 1976. I'm sure it wasn't her favorite trip, wrangling 12 teenage girls. Sr Joyce was a good sport about our exploits.
May she find Peace and Rest.

I'm sad to read of her passing, but what wonderful memories of her and her art classes at Holy Spirit 72-76. she was a truly gifted teacher and she inspired my love of watercolor painting. She will always be fondly remembered.

Rest in Peace Sister Joyce. You were the best art professor at Georgian Court! You cultivated a love of calligraphy in an accounting student. I will always be grateful for the art you taught me along with your gentle spirit. Much love and prayers to your family.
