Sharon we never met but I knew your husband well in his youth. My brother Sal and I grew up in the same apartment building (88 West 2nd St) with Joe, Billy, Louie and Nancy. I have many fond memories of our youth up thru high school. We spent many hours playing as young boys. Sharon I am so sorry for your loss. Billy and Louie I can see your faces as if it was yesterday. Sorry for your loss. Nancy you were the youngest and a girl so I never spent time with you but I can see your face as well. Sorry for loss.

Dear Sharon and family, It is with profound sadness that these words are written. We've all spent such wonderful times together celebrating, discussing the news of the day and just enjoying being in each other's company. There was always warmth and laughter and plenty of food and drink. Due to the present travel restrictions, we are unable to be there in person, but know we are with you in our spirit. We share in your loss. Wishing you all peace and love and may Joe rest in peace. Love, MaryJane and Don Traponese

The only one missing from this picture was my Dad, I am not sure why because he was there that night . However, it still shows the love that these brothers have for one another. Rest in peace uncle Joe. Uncle Tony will be there to greet you on the other side as well as grandma.

Sharon, many of our best memories are the times we spent with you and Joe, especially Joe showed his culinary expertise in cooking tasty vegetarian dishes for me.
He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him. I will miss my “birth star buddy”.

Joseph DeMato was my uncle. My father William DeMato‘s older brother. My dad loved and looked up to him all through his life. They were not only brothers, they were best friends for 80+ years. That’s a long time. My dad admired him always. For good reason. He was not only a great brother, he was an awesome athlete when they attended high school together. Which later took him to Ithaca College. Which was an awesome achievement in the late 1950s early 60s.. As a child, I always remember my uncle Joe coming to Visit his mother, my grandma, Mary DeMato in Bound Brook. Always unplanned, Never calling. In fact, My uncle Joe was known for doing things spontaneously. He would walk through the door, yelling... lol “ Mareeeeeee” As if he was mimicking the old Italians in the neighborhood yelling her name out. Mar eeeeeee. He also always referred to his loving wife, my aunt Sharon, as ...
“Moran” her last name. My uncle Joe possessed good looks, charm, and wit ike no other and I think he was confident in knowing so LOL. My father adored him and was heartbroken to hear of this news. Just as he was to hear of the news that he lost his brother Tony less than two years ago. They were 4 boys , and one little sister. They were all very close growing up. He will be missed every day but I am sure grandma, and maybe aunt Jenny, are making you and Uncle Tony a pot of sauce with her awesome meatballs. we will love and miss you and we will someday see you again.
Your niece,
Dana De Mato Gharbi

My deepest condolences to Sharon and Joe's entire family. Joe has been my idle since I was a kid, and I'm so glad that I got to reconnect with him over the past couple of years. I was very fortunate to spend time with him at the Chimney Rock Inn, after my brother Skip's funeral. Rest in Peace Joe, you'll never be forgotten.

Sharon, some of our best memories are the time we spent with you & Joe at Loft Farms, especially digging the snow path so we can drink martinis & have Joey’s pomodoro sauce. Those fun times continued at the Glades in Naples, dancing at the club with Denice’s parents & all the restaurants we frequented downtown on Fifth Avenue. Joey was one of the good guys, we will truly miss him. Love, Denice & Linda
